We share with heavy hearts the news of the passing of our cherished founder, the driving force behind RollerXpress. For them, this rink was more than just a business—it was a lifelong passion. As we cope with this significant loss, we take solace in the happiness they brought to everyone. We are more dedicated than ever to continuing their dream and honoring the legacy they established, one lap at a time.
Most of you know Steve as the face of the West London skate scene. He’d been at it since ’76—from Ealing Sports to Buddies to Cheap Skates to Quad-Skates.co.uk and most recently, Skate Factory. He even tried a venture into Publishing, producing Skate Magazine UK for 3 years and producing UK manufactured skate wheels and hardware.
For him, it was never just about the shops; it was about the community. Whether it was setting up pop-up parks in the 80s or making sure kids from struggling families had wheels under their feet, he just wanted people to skate.
We’re going to do our best to keep his vision for RollerXpress alive, but we need a moment to breathe. We’ll be closing our online store for a couple of weeks while we process everything. He was the engine behind our customer service, and it doesn't feel right to continue without him, just yet.
We ask for your grace and understanding as our small team navigates this period of grief. Please bear with us if replies to messages and emails take a little longer than usual. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our journey.
