Safeguarding – what does this mean for RollerXpress?
RollerXpress considers the safety and wellbeing of all skaters at the core value of our roller rink. We ensure the safety and protection from harm of all skaters whether this be a first aid incident, verbal aggression or evidence of abuse. We do not tolerate any one harming another individual under any circumstances.
Whilst we maintain our ethical stance on child and vulnerable adult safeguarding, we would like to remind all RollerXpress users, we are not a creche, soft play, nursery, school or day care service. We require all parents to have a level of responsibility and control to ensure the protection of their children when leaving them at our venue. We do not stipulate any age conditions as one 13-yr old may differ from another. We recommend children under 13 not to be left alone at the rink – however we are unable to enforce this as a requirement, again – we are not a day care service with locking doors or key card access.
Our Safeguarding Risk Assessment does not present any increase of risk when compared to any other retail outlet, supermarket, leisure centre or leisure facility. We remind all parents to ensure the safety of their children and remain vigilant if you see any suspicious activities. We do not perceive any heightened risk of kidnapping, abuse or harm to children or young people as a result of our activities.
Finally, it has been highlighted to the RollerXpress team in a recent Google Review, we would like to confirm that no additional signage, like the one shown on the right hand side will be placed inside RollerXpress and remind all users of our facility of the Public Service Broadcast below.
